ELISA (MELISA)
1. Our sample
procedure is exactly like your DHIA sample.
2. Please phone ahead and we
will supply sample vials (each containing one
preservative BRONOPOL* tablet) and
a styrofoam shipper at no cost**
(pending sample volume).
* BRONOPOL IS A TOXIC SUBSTANCE: BE
CAREFUL. Wash hands; keep
away from children and the bulk tank.
** Allied Monitor, Inc. may supply the
vials and the styrofoam shipper at no cost,
the shipping charges will be billed to
recipient.
3. Number each vial
consecutively. Collect a sample, which is representative of all
milk produced by one cow at one
milking. Sample cows 10 days or more after
freshening. For bulk tank sampling,
indicate the number of cows for each sample.
Transfer approximately 30cc (1oz.)
of sample into vial (do not over fill vial) and close
lid securely. The BRONOPOL tablet
will dissolve within ten minutes after milk is
added.
4. Check all caps for
tight closure and insert vials into styrofoam shipper. No
refrigeration/gel ice pack(s) are
required.
5. Complete Allied
Monitor, Inc. Test Sample Submission Form. Place form into a
plastic bag and insert into
shipping box.
6. Ship next day service by
courier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc). to Allied Monitor's
address at bottom of page.
7. In most
instances, we can report your MELISA results within 24 hours of sample
receipt. For more than
300 samples, please notify us prior to shipping.
